Scéalta Grá na hÉireann – a new six-part series about Ireland’s greatest love stories starts on TG4 this coming Wednesday night.
Produced by Bo Media for TG4, the series (factual) looks at some of the iconic relationships throughout the history of Ireland, each of the six featured having played a major part in the formation of the country we know today.
It all starts this coming Wednesday night with a bang, delving into the love-triangle relationship between Michael Collins, Kitty Kiernan and Harry Boland, Collins’ best friend.
Some background to the story…
“The story of a love triangle between Michael, Harry Boland (Michael’s best friend), and Kitty is accurate”, according to the aptly-named Sara’s Michael Collins Site.
“In 1918, Harry and Michael traveled to Longford where Kiernan and her siblings worked at taking care of the family business in Granard and stayed at the Greville Arms. At this time, Harry was the one dating Kitty and Michael’s interests were directed at Kitty’s sister, Helen. But Helen had another male friend seeking her affections and they eventually married, much to Michael’s dismay.” (Read the full story here)
