Well, if yesterday’s workout was slow going, this morning’s session, Primed FTP, was a little more taxing on the legs over the bones of 25km.
Having quite literally taken the foot off the pedal for a few months on the tail end of the summer, I’m hoping to return my FTP to over 200 come the start of 2021.
Earlier this year I’d tested things out at 188W so I’ve been using that as the base, even if it’s a bit of a struggle at times. The bigger the number, the better chance of fatigue reduction, improving endurance and the rest.
This session was all about short anaerobic efforts (like yesterday) followed by five minutes around my FTP level.

The stats made for interesting reading when looking at heart rate spread over the 56 minutes, a nice gradual rise all the way to 179bpm at the tail end of the last stretch.
It’s a good session, and while the cooldown periods are welcome, there’s a good feeling about getting the legs really fired up. Happy with the output albeit there may have been a bit more swearing involved.
